What is eSim?

Modified on Tue, 3 Oct, 2023 at 9:56 AM

eSIM (embedded SIM) - the same "SIM card", but physically soldered on the smartphone's motherboard.
SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) is not just a subscriber identification module. It has a 10 MHz processor, permanent non-volatile memory (and the SIM takes power from a smartphone), controllers, and even its own operating system.

What is the convenience of eSIM?

This service gives you the convenience of simultaneously using two mobile operators on one smartphone that support this technology. You can have separate providers for personal items and business transactions, add an additional line for traveling abroad.
ESIM only works on unlocked eSIM compatible devices. When using an eSIM, no physical SIM card is required: on an eSIM compatible device, you can start the connection by scanning the QR code or manually entering the details provided in the confirmation email in the app.
